Depression

Life seems to be without meaning and I loathe my inability to make big-enough changes.

Depressed moods can have many shades. Clinical depression is characterized by long-term low mood and/or loss of interest in essential activities.

If your climate depression interferes with your everyday activities and close relationships it’s crucial to seek professional support.

Question: What is an achievable action — whether outward directed, or self-care — I can take today to improve my state of mind?

Action

Take care of yourself first

If climate feelings are making it hard to enjoy things or get through your day, reaching out matters. Talk to someone you trust and make room for things that help you feel like yourself, whether that is music, movement, rest, art, or friends.

When sadness feels heavier

Climate concerns can sometimes add to feelings of sadness, exhaustion, or hopelessness. If those feelings stick around or interfere with everyday life, you deserve support. You do not have to manage everything on your own.

Others have had hard days too

Some young people describe climate emotions as heavy, exhausting, or hard to escape. Hearing how others reached out, found support, and stayed connected can remind you that asking for help is an important kind of action too.
