Hope

I desire a future!

Hope is a big word. It can mean different things for different people: hope need not be wishful thinking. Fundamentally, hope is connected with meaning. Hope is manifested in agency, energy, and efforts to make things better, and this gives meaning.

Question: How can we keep meaning and hope alive in difficult times?

Action

Help create something worth hoping for

Hope does not mean waiting for someone else to fix things. Join a project, support a solution, share good climate news, plant something, help a neighbor, or work with friends on a change you want to see.

Hope is more than optimism

Climate hope does not require believing everything will turn out perfectly. It can mean believing that what we do still matters and that better outcomes are possible. Hope often grows when we see people working toward solutions.

Find reasons to keep going

Young people are imagining better futures while working to make them real. Their stories show that fear and hope can exist at the same time—and that hope often grows through action, community, and seeing progress happen.
